Small Bore
Smallbore Rifle Competition
Dan Peliska, Senior Instructor 218-258-3354
Smallbore .22 LR 4 Position Precision Rifle Competition is often considered the ultimate test of a shooter and his equipment. At an indoor small-bore match, competitors use specialized bolt action .22 rifles to fire 10 shots from a distance of 50 feet [indoors], on each of 4 targets [10 bulls per target], from 4 positions, prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing, for a total of 40 shots. Each bull has 5 scoring rings, with a ten ring smaller than the diameter of a .22 shell! A score of 100 is possible on each target, for a possible perfect match total of 400 points.
If you are interested in small-bore competition please contact me, Dan Peliska, Senior Instructor, at 218-258-3354. I will be glad to provide an introduction to the sport on a Saturday morning, by appointment, at the VR&PC Indoor Range located above the bus garage in Eveleth, Minnesota. Some Junior Rifle Team equipment will be available.
