Buffalo guns with 450 to 500+ grain bullets at 1200 fps work the best.
Can use duplex loads, smokeless or black powder substitutes. No hot smokeless loads!

Muzzleloader
Pistol caliber lever guns
"Tom Horn" rifle caliber lever guns

Locate the game [steel grouse, deer, bear, varmints, etc.] and hit for score. [Some moving and/or knock down targets!]
Great fun! Winners will be determined by overall scored hits and time for the run-through. Participants may start a fire with flint and steel, or stick a knife or tomahawk for a bonus.
This is a great relaxing fall weekend! Camp primitive or modern. [No water or hookups.] We'll have some wonderful potluck meals with buffalo meat to try!! If you have any interest in "Cowboy" or "Buffalo guns" come and check it out.
We've had just about everything in 19th century firearms including paper-cutter Sharps, cartridge Sharps, Trapdoors, Rolling blocks, Highwalls, Low walls, Ballards, Spencers, 1860 Henrys, 66,73,76,86,92, 94 & 95 Winchesters, Stevens, and even the occasional Peabody or Martini! You may see a 71 Mauser or others. [ Note the trio of J.P.Gemmer style buffalo guns- two 50-70s and a 50-90.]
Hope to see you at the Range!
